PERSONAL MESSAGE

It has been an honor to serve as your County Attorney during the past 11 years. During my years in office, I have worked hard to improve the services to our community and to meet the many demands of the office. I am committed to our Community and together with my partners in law enforcement have worked tirelessly to keep our families and neighborhoods safe. While County Attorney I have worked to create new programs to meet the needs of our community. These programs include:

  • An annual backpack and school supply give-away
  • A traffic safety program with the assistance of a representative from the Crittenden County Sheriff’s office
  • A Scholarship award for Crittenden County graduates
  • A tax installment program to assist taxpayers in the timely payment of property taxes
  • Integration of the County Attorney’s office and the Child Support office

I have worked with other county officials to see that our tax dollars are utilized efficiently to benefit all citizens. I have always focused on being an effective and fair prosecutor with a goal of ensuring justice for the victims of crimes and holding those individuals accountable for the crimes they have committed. It is an exciting but challenging time to be a prosecutor and, if reelected, I am looking forward to continuing to serve the people of our County. I, along with my experienced staff, are prepared to continue to work hard to see that our community is a safer place to live, work and to raise our families. I would appreciate your vote on November 6th.

ISSUES

Combating Drug Abuse

One of the greatest challenges facing our community is the ever expanding problem of illegal drug and opioid addiction. The drug problem impacts not only the addict, but also his or her family, children and the entire community. I have worked with our courts, community-based services, and treatment providers to combat this problem. Because I believe that there is so much more that we can do outside the court system to battle drug addiction, I am active as co-chairman of our local Drug-free Coalition.

Responsible County Government

Another challenge of my office is working to ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely in the County. I have assisted the Fiscal Court in following a fair and just process in making the difficult decisions that provide for the needs of our community. I have directly assisted our County by operating a well-run child support office that benefits both the children and the taxpayers by bringing more money into our County.

Tough on Crime

I work hard prosecuting crimes in District Court and ensuring that our justice system protects our community and its citizens.  In addition to prosecuting drug offenses, I prosecute other crimes such as assaults, thefts, and DWIs.  When possible, I work to provide restitution to the victims of these crimes.

LEADERSHIP

Child Support Enforcement

I am improving programs that assist the families in our community, including child support collection in Crittenden County. With the help of my child support staff I have improved the establishment and collection of support. Over the last 11 fiscal years I have collected over 11 million dollars in support for the parents and grandparents of Crittenden County. Across the State the average cost of collecting support is comparable to $1 spent for every $6.33 collected. Through good management and hard work, my office has consistently surpassed the state average by collecting over $10 for every dollar that the State and Federal government funds my office.

Since becoming County Attorney she has given away over 1500 backpacks and sets of school supplies to Crittenden County students. In the past year she is partnering with local business to increase the number of children who receive backpacks and supplies.

Advisor to County Government and County officials:

The County Attorney acts as an advisor to the County Government and to County Officials. In a time when revenue to our County is being reduced, I have worked hard with our Fiscal Court to see that we are fiscally responsible, using our tax dollars for the good of the people in our County.

Traffic Safety program

To promote safe driving and call attention to the perils of distracted driving, in 2011 I started the first County Attorney Traffic Safety program in the area.
